LEADERSHIP TEAM

Octavio Figueroa, President & CEO – Mexico

Octavio Figueroa graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering at the Universidad Iberoamericana. He holds a finance diploma from the Instituto Autónomo de México (ITAM), and an MBA from the University of Texas, Austin. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) by the AIMR.

Octavio began his career at Banco Nacional de México (Banamex) where he worked for 14 years. He then joined Banamex affiliate company specialized in asset-backed transactions as Credit Director, where he remained for three years. In 1997, he served as Risk Director at Heller Financial ( Mexico) and in 2001 was appointed President and CEO.

In 2004, Octavio accepted the challenge to be the country manager for AIG United Guaranty Mexico. In this capacity, he has been responsible for initiating operations, as well as introducing AIG United Guaranty's innovative products to the Mexican market.

Carlos Perez-Villanueva, Chief Administration Officer

Carlos Perez-Villanueva has been the Chief Administration Officer for AIG United Guaranty Mexico since March 2006, leading the administration, finance, legal, human resources, and information technology areas. With a law degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana, he has made a career in the financial sector for the last 14 years. As Vice President and General Counsel for GE Equipment Services, he was responsible for structuring diverse financing products. Prior to that, he worked as Deputy General Counsel for GE Commercial Finance, General Counsel and Administration Director for Heller Financial Mexico, and Senior Attorney for Banco Nacional de Mexico. He taught various law courses at the Universidad Panamericana and the Universidad Iberoamericana.
